Inclusion and diversity are top of mind for most businesses as they seek to attract and retain top talent. In her recent book, Moment of Lift, Melinda Gates argues that it is essential for those developing AI to be representative of our total population, otherwise these systems will be built based upon the bias of those most represented. Increasingly, nonprofit boards are recognizing the need and significance of diverse thinking so that they can operate with greater inclusion and equity.  In this session, we will discuss some of the actions that both for-profit and nonprofit boards are taking to increase the diversity of their boards and cultural changes being made to create an inclusive environment.

As the CR Group indicated in a recent statement, we will work to break down the barriers that exist for minorities and people of color; we will continue to provide programs that challenge the flawed societal norms; we will continue to learn, listen and collaborate; we will continue to take a stand for diversity and inclusion; and we will continue to make our collective voices heard to integrate healing justice.
This conversation is just one action we are taking as part of our responsibility. And we commit to doing more.
